The departure of two, key Salesforce Executives was announced in the past week.

Andy Kofoid, who joined the CRM giant by way of the ExactTarget acquisition in 2013 (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud) served in various roles and was most recently the President of North America. He will be joining Databricks to lead their Global Field Operations.

This follows the recent departure of Jon Sigler, who spent 8 years at Salesforce leading various Product teams, including Work.com, their newest employee experience system as they look to make a play in the Human Capital Management (HCM) arena. Competition between Salesforce and ServiceNow has heated up in recent years and ServiceNow even announced a move away from Slack following their acquisition by Salesforce in December 2020.

This could be a troubling sign of Executive departures for Salesforce, who is known to have incredibly strong succession planning in place for the eventual departure of longtime CEO and Founder, Marc Benioff.
