There is no better example of Salesforce being a core piece of INFRASTRUCTURE than at Ticketmaster.

It's almost as if their core Product - a ticketing marketplace - is just an interface that runs on the engine of Salesforce.

And the entire Salesforce application strategy is run by a team of just 30 FTEs, while the broader Engineering organization is 750+ total.

Salesforce Drives Ticketmaster's Operations

This is a prime example of why Salesforce can't simply be viewed as an Internal Tool. In the case of Ticketmaster, it powers virtually every core customer experience. It is the core product experience.

  • Customer Acquisition through Marketing Cloud: "When you need to message 100 million fans in real time across the world, you can’t do that without a platform like Salesforce,” said Bob Ritter, SVP Product Management.
  • Support through Service Cloud powered by AI/ML: "Things like artificial intelligence and machine learning allow us to ask and answer questions much faster than we ever could have in the history of the company." Justin Burleigh, Chief Product Officer.
  • Ticket Agent and Fan Applications built with custom Salesforce Apps: OK, so they're building Fan-facing Applications on top of Salesforce as well?
  • Quote to Pay processing on Salesforce: Ticketmaster’s core ‘quote to pay’ business process is tightly integrated with Salesforce and Oracle Fusion Cloud solution, leading to $3.5M in cost savings annually.

The Team Behind Salesforce

Again, we come back to the fact that it requires 750+ Engineers in the company but only 30 people on the entire Salesforce team. It's hard to imagine a stronger return on investment (ROI) given the amount their business that runs through Salesforce.

It speaks to the value of investing in a Salesforce team.
